I’m happy it turned out to be gastro but be careful. Mine turned out to be a perforated ulcer, many perforations in my intestines, and a massive infection. If the emergency room doctor hadn’t diagnosed me quickly and correctly and gotten me to my surgeon I would have died. I still had a 50% chance of dying with the surgery. I made it. I had only 4-5 days of my stomach feeling a little nauseated and crampy but the day I went to the ER…when it was almost too late, my diaphragm was on fire! So…my motto (always) is better safe than sorry.
Thanks! This sounds wacky but it’s true…September of 2020 I felt “weird.” If you put your hand palm-down on the *top* of your head, that’s where I had a headache. Weird. And I just felt *weird.” So, I went to the Emergency Room by ambulance because I felt too weird to drive and the ER doctor didn’t find anything! She wanted to send me home and I said, “You can’t…I feel weird.” She said, “I can’t keep you just because you feel weird. Go home and call your primary care physician on Monday morning.” (This was Saturday night.) I *insisted* that she keep me so she, thankfully, agreed and admitted me for “observation.” Sunday afternoon they discovered I had an infection that went into my bloodstream. Monday morning I was in the ICU in septic shock and they were pumping me full of saline as fast as they could so my blood pressure stopped plummeting…down to 75/37 and dropping before they turned it around. I would have woken up dead on Monday morning! My body seems to like almost dying. Let’s hope it continues to stop there for a long, long time!
The thing is…it was so subtle. Is “weird” a good enough reason to go to the emergency room, much less be admitted? No…of course not. But, I just listened to that “small voice” and, most importantly, advocated for myself. It’s so important to do!
My niece (6) has the same thing. She’s been naked on the floor of her room because she doesn’t want anything touching her. She’s on day 4. It sounds awful!
Look I have to be honest, I don't love the tone here. I'm happy to have people disagree with my recommendations but your language is unnecessarily forceful. And it's pretty odd to link to your own blog with an inflammatory post like this. Doesn't make me want to click the link in the slightest.

Yes see that was half my conundrum! What if it's something more serious? I'm so glad you're okay that sounds so scary.

Whoa that story is wild! And of course you knew something was off. It was sepsis. 😬

Omg!!! What a week, and hope you feel back to yourself soon! ❤️ Olly is a legend
I'm already feeling 1000 times better. Thanks love!

It is brutal! So many people are like why is this taking so long??? I'm usually over gastro in 3 days max. Poor little thing.
